Nicole & Jerry // A Girdwood Alaska Wedding

I am so very excited to share this Alaska wedding with you all today!

A couple of months ago, I traveled to Anchorage for the second time this summer to shoot a wedding in the gorgeous mountains of Girdwood. My second-shooter, Grace Adams, joined me for the day, and I was so happy to have my dear friend beside me for this wedding. I had talked a lot back and forth with the bride, Nicole, as we prepared for the big day, and it was clear from everything she said how special she and Jerry's relationship is.

Having grown up in Girdwood, this place was very dear to Nicole's heart, and every detail of their wedding was so well thought out. DIY elements were around every corner, and it was obvious that there was so much love surrounding this sweet couple. Plus, Nicole's wedding dress was to die for.

For the first look, we went up into the mountains of Alyeska, hoping for panoramic views of the valley below, but instead we got a foggy, cloudy atmosphere. Some people would have been upset by this unfortunate change in weather, but Nicole and Jerry embraced it fully, and we took some of my new favorite photos up there on that mountain. We went down to the valley floor after that, and, surrounded by gorgeous mountains, the couple held each other close.

The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch, and everyone had the best time dancing, laughing, and just being together. It was one of my favorite weddings yet, in more ways than one.

Thank you Grace for being there to help me capture this beautiful day, and thank you Nicole and Jerry for inviting us into your wonderful family!
